The Hi-Viz LiteWave Rear Sight for Springfield Armory 1911 is a precision aiming solution designed to accelerate target acquisition and improve sight picture clarity in variable lighting conditions. Built around interchangeable LitePipe technology, this rear sight delivers the fast-sight acquisition that pistol operators demand during tactical training, defensive drills, and competition shooting—without the bulk or complexity of electronic systems.
The sight features a factory-height notch measuring 0.140 inches wide, maintaining proper sight radius and zero with standard 1911 front sight designs. The tri-color LitePipe system includes green, red, and black replaceable elements, allowing shooters to optimize visibility for their environment—green for sunlight, red for low-light indoor work, and black for specialized tactical applications or when iron sight definition is paramount. Each pipe insert seats securely and can be swapped in seconds without tools, making this sight equally at home on the range and in the duty holster.
This rear sight fits all production-series Springfield Armory 1911 models. Note that it does not accommodate GI or Mil Spec slide cuts. Shooters upgrading from fixed iron sights to LiteWave rear sights gain faster flash-to-target transition times while retaining the inherent reliability of mechanical sighting systems—no batteries, no electronics, no compromise on durability.
The 1911 platform remains the standard for law enforcement, military, and civilian operators worldwide. Upgrading the rear sight with a proven optical aiming aid addresses one of the most critical performance factors in defensive and tactical shooting: sight alignment speed and contrast. Hi-Viz LiteWave sights have established themselves as a field-proven upgrade across pistol disciplines, from IPSC and USPSA competition to armed security and reserve law enforcement duty.
