The Trijicon HD Night Sights (HK109O) are a three-dot tritium sight set built specifically for the H&K P2000 and P2000SK pistols. Trijicon designed this set for defensive and duty shooters who need fast front sight acquisition in low light and transitional lighting. The front sight runs a green tritium lamp ringed with a yellow photoluminescent outline, while the rear uses green tritium with a blacked-out U-shaped notch. That color separation pulls the eye straight to the front dot, which is what matters when the light goes bad and the clock is running.
The front sight uses a taller blade with the aiming point ringed in photoluminescent paint, so it charges off ambient light and stays visible during the transition from day to dark. The rear sight is outlined in black with a wider U-shaped notch, which frames the front dot quickly instead of competing with it. Trijicon steeply hooks the front surface of the rear sight, giving you a positive ledge to rack the slide one-handed against a belt, holster, or boot heel in an emergency. The green tritium lamps are warranted for 12 years from the date of manufacture per Trijicon. Professional installation is recommended, since the dovetails on the P2000 platform require proper fitting to seat correctly. The front sight has a green tritium lamp ringed by a yellow photoluminescent outline for fast acquisition. The rear sight uses a green tritium lamp with a black outline and a wider U-shaped notch, so the eye is drawn to the front dot in low light.
Trijicon warrants the green tritium lamps for 12 years from the date of manufacture. Tritium glow fades gradually over time, so the lamps remain usable but dimmer as they approach the end of that window.
Trijicon recommends professional installation. The P2000 dovetails require proper fitting and a sight pusher to seat the front and rear sights correctly without damaging the slide or the sights.
The front surface of the rear sight is steeply hooked so you can catch it on a belt, holster, or hard edge to rack the slide one-handed. That gives you a way to clear a malfunction or chamber a round if one hand is out of action.
