Made in the USA from Kevlar synthetic fiber, the cord ships in a 25-foot length and weighs next to nothing at 0.02 lbs. The Kevlar core is what gives it the 200-pound rating, and the protective polyurethane coating (some sources call it PTFE) adds UV resistance, abrasion resistance, and waterproofing so the cord holds up to repeated field use. Kevlar's defining trait is heat tolerance — this cord is flame-resistant and withstands extreme temperatures that would melt nylon paracord outright. That makes it useful for tasks near open flame, such as suspending a cooking pot.
