The Gas Block Genie is an alignment tool built for anyone assembling or rebuilding an AR-15 gas system. It sets the gas block to the correct depth and angle on a .750" barrel the first time, so the gas port lines up with the block's port without trial-and-error fitting. Built by Two Two Three Innovations and made in the USA, it works with clamp-on, rail-block, and micro gas block designs. If you've ever chased a short-stroking rifle back to a misaligned block, this is the fix. We stock it alongside the rest of our build and gunsmithing tools.
The tool indexes off the barrel to reference the gas port, letting you mark the block's position before you ever tighten a set screw or clamp. All you need is a fine-point marker or scribe to transfer the reference, then seat the block to the depth and angle the Genie establishes. It's covered under Patent 10,845,140 and sized at roughly 2" wide by 1" by 1", so it stores easily in a build kit or range bag. The metal construction holds up to repeated use, and because it's reusable, it pays off across multiple builds rather than a single install. Instructions are included, and the process runs three to five steps depending on your block type. The design fits standard .750" gas block barrels across the AR-15 platform.
Reach for the Gas Block Genie any time you're installing a fresh gas block, swapping a handguard that requires block removal, or troubleshooting a rifle that runs sluggish or over-gassed. Correct port alignment is what keeps an AR cycling reliably, and guessing at it leads to gas leaks and inconsistent function. Armorers building in volume and home builders working their first carbine both get the same result: a block that's square and seated right on the first attempt. Pair it with the other AR-specific items in our tooling lineup when you're setting up a new build.
This version fits standard .750" gas block barrels on the AR-15 platform. It works with clamp-on, rail-block, and micro gas block designs, so it covers the most common setups builders run on a .750 barrel.
Just a fine-point marker or a scribe. You use the Genie to reference the gas port and mark the block's position, then seat the block to the depth and angle it establishes. The full process runs about three to five steps.
Yes. It's a reusable metal tool designed to be used across multiple builds rather than discarded after one install, which makes it useful for armorers and anyone building more than one rifle.
If the gas block's port doesn't line up with the barrel's gas port, the rifle loses pressure and can short-stroke or run inconsistently. Proper alignment keeps the gas system cycling reliably, which is the whole point of getting the block seated square the first time.
It's made in the USA by Two Two Three Innovations and is covered under Patent 10,845,140.
