The Fragola 1/8 in. male pipe thread hex plug (part 493301-BL) is a small but functional piece for anyone building or maintaining a fluid system. It caps off an unused 1/8 in. tapered port so nothing leaks and nothing gets in. Fabricators use these plugs on fuel blocks, oil galleys, sending unit bosses, and intake ports where a fitting once lived and now needs to be closed. The black anodized finish keeps it low-key against a dark engine bay, and the hex head takes a standard wrench for a clean, controlled install. It's a stock item in our fittings, hoses and valves lineup.
This plug uses a tapered male pipe thread that wedges tight against the female port as it draws down, forming a metal-to-metal seal that firms up under torque. The 1/8 in. size is one of the most common port dimensions on fuel logs, gauge adapters, and carburetor bodies, so a handful in the toolbox tends to get used. The external hex head lets a wrench seat fully on the flats, which matters when you're snugging a plug into a blind port you can't reach with a socket. The black anodized coating adds corrosion resistance and blends with black-finished fittings and lines. For sealing a threaded pipe port, this is the straightforward answer. Fragola builds these to the same standard as its adapter and cap hardware.
Reach for this plug when a project leaves a threaded port open and you need it closed for good, or temporarily during a leak-down test. It pairs with the rest of a plumbing job, so builders often grab matching hardware from our adapter fittings and general fittings at the same time. If you're closing off a larger port instead, the same style is available in bigger sizes across our pipe plug selection. Keep a couple on hand — an open port is the kind of thing you only notice after fluid is already on the floor.
It threads into a 1/8 in. female tapered pipe port. That size shows up on fuel logs, gauge adapters, carburetor bodies, and sending unit bosses. If your port is larger, check the 1/4 in., 3/8 in., and 1/2 in. plugs in the same style.
The tapered thread forms a metal-to-metal seal as it draws down under torque, but many builders still add a thread sealant or tape rated for the fluid in the system for extra insurance against weeping. Match the sealant to your application, especially with fuel or oil.
The external hex head seats a standard open-end or box wrench on the flats, which lets you snug it into ports a socket can't reach. The exact wrench size depends on the plug body; check the flats with your set before final torque.
The black anodized coating blends with black-finished fittings and lines for a clean look, but it also adds corrosion resistance. That helps in an engine bay or under-vehicle location where the plug sees heat, moisture, and road grime over time.
