Description

The Kynshot Spacer Weight is a machined stainless steel mass that installs at the front of a hydraulic buffer system to add weight where it counts. Developed in partnership with Blitzkrieg Components, it pairs with Kynshot PCC hydraulic buffers and, in certain configurations, Kynshot AR hydraulic buffers. Shooters running short-stroke pistol-caliber carbines in the 8 to 16 inch barrel range use it to delay initial bolt movement and slow bolt velocity, which smooths the recoil impulse and helps the rifle settle faster between shots. If you already run a Kynshot hydraulic buffer, this is the companion part that fine-tunes the cycle.

Each Spacer Weight is machined from 17-4 stainless steel and adds 0.75 inches of length and 2.5 ounces (roughly 70 grams) of mass to the buffer stack, per manufacturer specifications. The silver stainless finish reflects the raw material, and the body is dimensioned to sit closely within the buffer tube so it does not rattle or allow the buffer to tilt off-axis during the cycle. That tight fit is the point: by keeping mass concentrated at the front of the assembly and reducing play inside the tube, the weight delays the bolt's first movement and lowers peak velocity. For short-stroke PCC builds a standard AR-15 buffer tube works, while AR-10/A5 buffer tubes are recommended when you want full bolt travel.

This is a tuning part for builders who already understand their buffer system and want to dial in cycling on a 9mm carbine or a heavier-recoiling AR platform. Add it when bolt velocity feels excessive, when you're chasing reliable lock-back, or when you need to bias the buffer mass forward to keep things tracking straight. Installation drops into the buffer stack alongside your existing Kynshot buffer and spring. Pair it with the right buffer spring and receiver extension for your configuration, and browse the full range of grips, pads and stocks to round out the build.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the Kynshot Spacer Weight do?

It adds 2.5 ounces of mass and 0.75 inches of length to the front of a hydraulic buffer system. That extra forward mass delays the bolt's initial movement and slows bolt velocity, which smooths the recoil impulse. The tight fit inside the buffer tube also helps keep the buffer from tilting off-axis during the cycle.

Which buffers is it compatible with?

It works with Kynshot PCC hydraulic buffers and, in certain cases, Kynshot AR hydraulic buffers. For full bolt travel, an AR-10/A5 buffer tube is recommended. For short-stroke PCC setups on firearms with 8 to 16 inch barrels, a standard AR-15 buffer tube will accommodate it.

What is the Spacer Weight made of?

It is machined from 17-4 stainless steel, which accounts for its silver finish and 2.5-ounce mass in a 0.75-inch length. The stainless construction gives it the density needed to add meaningful weight at the front of the buffer stack without taking up much room in the tube.

Will the Spacer Weight fit my buffer tube without rattling?

It is dimensioned to sit closely within the buffer tube. That snug fit is intentional: keeping the part centered reduces play and helps prevent buffer tilt while concentrating mass at the front of the assembly to slow bolt velocity.
