The MONIT ABS Sensor Interface Pro (PR003) takes the analogue output from an ABS wheel speed sensor and converts it into a signal a Monit rally computer can read. It's built for competition and prototype builds where a co-driver needs accurate distance and speed data without adding a separate wheel probe. The interface works with most two-wire ABS sensors that generate an analogue output, so teams can pull speed data straight from sensors already mounted on the vehicle. For rally and stage builds running our rally computer hardware, this is the cleanest way to feed wheel speed into the system.
Electrically, the PR003 is specified with 200mV of hysteresis to reject signal noise, a maximum input frequency of 4kHz, and 100kΩ input impedance for clean signal handoff to the rally computer. Operating temperature runs from -20°C to 125°C, which covers under-hood and chassis-mounted installations in stage conditions. The unit ships with 2 meters of cable, giving enough length to route from a wheel sensor location to a dash-mounted computer without splicing in extensions. Because it reads an existing two-wire ABS sensor rather than requiring a dedicated probe, the wiring stays simpler than a separate wheel probe setup, while still feeding the same speed and distance calculations the computer relies on.
This interface is intended for competition and prototype vehicles only. The ABS sensors feeding it must be disconnected from any vehicle safety system, so it should never be installed on a car still relying on those sensors for braking control. For rally teams calibrating tripmeters and stage distances, pulling speed from a factory-style two-wire sensor through the PR003 saves the install time of running a separate probe.
