The Eaton Posi - GM 10-Bolt 88-05 7.5/7.625 is a performance limited-slip differential specifically designed for GM trucks and SUVs equipped with 10-bolt rear axles from 1988 through 2005. This unit addresses a common weakness in stock differentials: the inability to send adequate power to both rear wheels during acceleration, cornering, or low-traction conditions.
The Eaton Posi replaces the factory open design with a clutch-pack limited-slip mechanism that improves traction and handling responsiveness without the harshness of a true locking differential. It uses a series of spring-loaded clutch plates that progressively lock the differential as torque imbalance increases between the two rear wheels, allowing smooth operation during normal driving while automatically transferring torque to the wheel with more traction when power is applied.
This differential is ideal for both street performance and light off-road use, making it a great upgrade for classic Chevy trucks, full-size SUVs, or performance street machines. The 7.5-inch and 7.625-inch designations ensure direct bolt-in compatibility with factory mounting points and existing driveshafts, providing a seamless upgrade experience.
