The EV Hyd Roller Lifter Set Chevy 348/409 Retro Fit from COMP CAMS is designed for builders restoring or upgrading classic big-block Chevrolet engines with modern hydraulic roller technology. These lifters replace original flat-tappet designs on 348 and 409 cubic-inch blocks, providing enhanced performance and reliability for vintage powerplants.
The hydraulic roller lifters automatically maintain zero lash through internal oil pressure regulation, eliminating the need for constant valve lash adjustments. COMP CAMS' roller design features hardened steel construction with precision-ground roller wheels that help distribute loads across a wider contact patch, reducing wear on camshaft lobes and extending engine life.
This lifter set is ideal for owners rebuilding 348 or 409 engines intended for street applications, weekend cruising, or mild performance use where reliability and reduced maintenance are priorities. While the retrofit configuration allows for easier installation into stock 348/409 blocks, some setups may still require careful attention to valvetrain geometry and oil circulation.
