Description

The SBC 180cc Street Heads by Air Flow Research are designed for small-block Chevrolet builders who prioritize street performance and daily-driver reliability. These cylinder heads provide an upgrade over factory castings, enhancing airflow without compromising drivability or requiring extensive tuning modifications. They are suitable for various applications, including classic muscle cars and modern restomods.

Engineered with CNC-ported intake and exhaust passages, these heads optimize flow characteristics for stock and mildly modified cam profiles. The 180cc port volume is ideal for achieving a balance between low-end torque and mid-range power delivery. Designed for use with pump-premium gasoline, they support reasonable compression ratios (9.5:1 to 10:1) without detonation issues when using 91–93 octane fuel.

These heads are compatible with standard small-block Chevy valve train components and can be bolted directly to proven intake manifolds, eliminating the need for costly adapter plates. They are particularly effective when paired with hydraulic roller cams, making them a great choice for street engines typically producing between 350 and 420 horsepower.
