The Fast Burn Cylinder Head Assembly is Chevrolet Performance's 23-degree aluminum head built for serious small-block Chevy power. This is the assembled version, shipped complete with valves and springs, so a builder bolts it on without sourcing a valve job or spring package separately. It fits 1958-2000 small-blocks from 283 to 400 cubic inches running conventional water flow, and supports horsepower in excess of 500 per manufacturer specifications. Anyone building a street/strip 350 or stroker who wants flat-top piston efficiency and high-RPM breathing from a name-brand casting will find this is the head that does the work. The casting carries 210 cc intake ports with the roof raised .240 inch, 78 cc D-shaped exhaust ports raised .200 inch, and 62 cc combustion chambers at the .400-inch deck height. Chambers can be milled to .060 inch to bump compression. Valves measure 2.000 inches intake and 1.550 inches exhaust, and the LS-style beehive springs seat on a 1.48-inch diameter and clear up to .530-inch lift without modification. Screw-in rocker studs (3/8 inch top, 7/16 inch bottom) and angled spark plug holes with 3/4-inch reach come standard. Dual valve cover and intake bolt patterns accept both perimeter-bolt and center-bolt covers, plus Vortec and early-model intake manifolds. Time-Serts in the rocker studs stop oil migration, and the casting requires no heat riser. Pair these heads with matching valve springs and a compatible rocker arm setup.
These heads belong on a performance build aimed at the track or an uncontrolled vehicle. They are not legal for sale or use on emissions-controlled vehicles and will not work on Gen II 1992-96 LT1/LT4 or LS1 engines that use reverse-flow cooling, so verify your block uses conventional water flow and at least a 4.000-inch bore before ordering. Plan on a Fel-Pro exhaust gasket P/N 1470 for proper sealing. A builder dropping these onto a flat-top 350 gets the cylinder pressure and combustion efficiency that make the Fast Burn design move air. Round out the project with a fresh timing kit.
They fit 1958-2000 small-block Chevy engines from 283 to 400 cubic inches with conventional water flow and a minimum 4.000-inch bore. They are not compatible with Gen II 1992-96 LT1/LT4 or LS1 engines, which use reverse-flow cooling.
This part number, 19417592, is the assembled version. It ships complete with valves and LS-style beehive valve springs already installed, so it is ready to bolt on without a separate valve job or spring package.
Per manufacturer specifications, the Fast Burn aluminum head supports horsepower in excess of 500. The 23-degree chamber design is optimized for flat-top pistons and increases cylinder pressure for stronger combustion.
These heads require a Fel-Pro exhaust gasket P/N 1470 for proper sealing. They use screw-in rocker studs measuring 3/8 inch on top and 7/16 inch on the bottom, and accept angled spark plugs with a 3/4-inch reach.
No. These heads are not legal for sale or use on emissions-controlled vehicles. They are intended for uncontrolled vehicles or closed-course competition racing only.
