The CAA Micro Conversion Kit for the Smith & Wesson M&P Shield takes a slim compact carry pistol and reshapes it into a stable, shouldered carbine-style platform without permanent modification. It fits the Shield in 9mm and .40 S&W and is built for shooters who want better control, a longer sight radius, and accessory mounting from a handgun they already own. Because the Shield itself is so slim, this is the thinnest kit CAA has produced for the line. The pistol drops into the chassis without disassembly, so installation and removal take seconds rather than tools. See the full range of firearm conversion kits we carry.
The chassis is polymer with an aluminum top Picatinny rail running the length of the receiver area for red dots, irons, or magnifiers. Side rails accept lights and lasers, and the Gen2 stabilizer rides at the rear for a consistent cheek weld and shoulder index. A built-in charging handle handles quick assembly and disassembly, while the slide release stays exposed so the pistol operates normally inside the kit. CAA includes a magazine button catch and release to retain a spare magazine on the chassis. Manual safety models physically fit, but the safety lever is not accessible once the pistol is installed. Suppressor use is not supported with this configuration. Per CAA specifications, assembled dimensions run roughly 15 inches long, 6.9 inches wide, and 3.9 inches tall.
Shooters use this kit for range training, home-platform consistency, and turning a familiar carry gun into a more controllable shooting tool. It travels flat, stores compact, and lets a single Shield serve double duty without buying a separate carbine. If you carry a different pistol, CAA makes the same chassis design for the full-size M&P 9/40 and the Glock 9/40 as well. Pair it with a compact optic and a weapon light from our accessory lineup to finish the build.
It fits the Smith & Wesson M&P Shield in 9mm and .40 S&W. It is not compatible with Performance Center models or EZ models. Manual safety versions of the Shield will physically fit, but the safety lever is not accessible once the pistol is installed in the chassis.

No. This configuration does not support suppressor use. The chassis is designed for standard barrel and slide operation with the exposed slide release functioning normally.
Per CAA specifications, assembled dimensions are approximately 15 inches long, 6.9 inches wide, and 3.9 inches tall, with a weight near 3.0 lbs. Because the Shield is so slim, this is the thinnest kit in the CAA lineup.
