The SmartSpark LS Ignition Kit from DAYTONA SENSORS is a standalone ignition controller built for carbureted GM LS engine swaps. It drives the coil-near-plug system on 24-tooth LS1, LS6, and LQ4 engines, the 2005 LS2, and 58-tooth LS7, LS3, LS9, and 2006-up LS2 builds. The kit includes the 119001 SmartSpark Module and the 102004 USB Interface and Cable, giving a carbureted LS the timing control it would otherwise lack without a factory ECU. It's aimed at street performance and racing builders who want full programmable ignition behavior on an engine running a carburetor. See the full ignition and electrical lineup for supporting parts.
The module ships preprogrammed with advance tables suited to normally aspirated high-performance engines, and builders can write custom 3D advance tables over USB. A three-step adjustable RPM limiter covers 3,000 to 9,900 RPM in 100 RPM increments, with separate launch, burnout, and maximum settings. Individual cylinder timing allows RPM-based offsets up to plus or minus 5 degrees in 0.1-degree steps, and startup timing retard is adjustable up to 10 degrees. Three general purpose input terminals trigger the RPM limits and retard functions. The unit is fully encapsulated with no internal voids and uses heavy-duty 12-pin Deutsch connectors. Tuning runs through PC Link, while SmartSpark Log handles real-time engine monitoring. Both applications are Windows only. The kit runs with GM LS1-style coils or higher-energy LS2-style coils.
A typical install pairs the module with a SmartSpark module harness, two GM OEM ignition coil harnesses, and eight LS ignition coils. Builders running a swapped LS on a carburetor use this to set a hard launch limit, dial in burnout RPM, and retard timing for startup or boost staging without a factory computer. The encapsulated housing and Deutsch connectors hold up to engine-bay heat and vibration. Round out the build with matching LS ignition coils and a coil harness. Made in USA and backed by a one-year warranty against defects in workmanship and material.
It supports carbureted GM LS builds, including 24-tooth LS1, LS6, and LQ4 engines, the 2005 LS2, and 58-tooth LS7, LS3, LS9, and 2006-up LS2 engines using a crank trigger. It controls ignition timing on these engines without a factory ECU.
The kit includes the 119001 SmartSpark Module and the 102004 USB Interface and Cable. To complete the install you also need a SmartSpark module harness, two GM OEM ignition coil harnesses, and eight LS ignition coils.
Yes. The module ships preprogrammed with advance tables for normally aspirated high-performance engines, and you can write custom 3D advance tables over USB using the PC Link software. SmartSpark Log handles real-time engine monitoring. Both applications run on Windows only.
It includes a three-step adjustable RPM limiter spanning 3,000 to 9,900 RPM in 100 RPM increments, with separate launch, burnout, and maximum settings. It also offers individual cylinder timing offsets up to ±5° in 0.1° steps and startup timing retard up to 10 degrees.
The system runs with GM LS1-style coils or higher-energy LS2-style coils. You will need eight coils for a V8 LS build, wired through two GM OEM ignition coil harnesses and the SmartSpark module harness.
