The KNS Precision, Inc. DiSCARder is an adjustable gas regulator built to fix the over-gassing that plagues FN Scar rifles, especially when a suppressor is hung on the muzzle. It drops into all FN Scar models, calibers, and barrel lengths with one exception, the Scar 15P. Shooters who run cans, mix ammunition types, or simply want a slower, softer-cycling rifle are the target here. By dialing the gas down, the DiSCARder reduces bolt carrier speed, cuts felt recoil, and tames muzzle rise, which translates to faster follow-up shots and less wear on the action over a long range day.
Construction is steel finished with nitride and nickel boron, a combination chosen for hardness and corrosion resistance in a part that lives in the hot gas path. There are no internal moving parts to gum up or fail, and adjustment is fully toolless, with a tactile detent and laser-marked positions so a shooter can count clicks by feel. The regulator offers a wide span of unique settings to fine-tune flow for a given load or suppressor. KNS ships three additional gas jet inserts measuring 1.5mm, 2mm, and 2.5mm along with an installation tool, so the gas curve can be matched to subsonic, supersonic, or suppressed fire without swapping the whole assembly. A suppressor raises back pressure and over-gasses the rifle, speeding up the bolt carrier and increasing recoil and gas to the face. The DiSCARder lets you reduce gas flow so the action cycles correctly with a can attached, smoothing recoil and lowering muzzle rise.
