The Manticore Arms Switchback is a folding ambidextrous charging handle built specifically for the Tavor SAR bullpup. It addresses a common complaint with the factory handle by giving shooters a low-profile unit that folds flush against the receiver when stowed, then swings out for a solid two-finger grip during the charging stroke. Because it works on either side of the rifle, left and right-handed shooters get the same handling. Note that this handle fits the Tavor SAR only and does not work on the X95 or Tavor 7. For shooters running a SAR, it's one of the cleaner manipulation upgrades in our charging handle lineup.
Construction is 6061 aluminum paired with a steel rod, finished in Type III milspec hardcoat black anodizing on the aluminum and black oxide on the steel, per manufacturer specifications. The design uses an inner lug and rod assembly mated to an outer handle assembly held by two screws. A spring-loaded detent with a small tab lock keeps the handle folded against the rifle until you deploy it by hand. After the charging stroke, the spring mechanism returns the handle to its folded position automatically, so it stays out of the way during shooting. The complete unit weighs 3.4 ounces and is made in the USA. Each handle ships with installation hardware, an allen wrench, and an instruction sheet, so everything needed for the swap is in the box.
