The Aimtech ASM-REM1220 is a saddle-style scope mount built for Remington 870, 1100 and 1187 shotguns in both 12 and 20 gauge. It clamps over the receiver and gives you a dovetail rail for a red dot, scope or other optic without drilling, tapping or any permanent changes to the gun. This is the mount for shooters running a slug gun, a turkey setup or a home-defense pump who want repeatable optic placement on a platform that already works. We stock it in the matte, non-glare satin black finish for shooters who don't want a shiny receiver line.
The body is extruded and machined from high-strength aluminum alloy and finished with a Type II anodized coating, holding the listed weight to roughly 4 ounces so it adds almost nothing to the gun. An inverted vee-way design centers the mount over the receiver and peaks high enough that the shotgun's original bead sight stays usable underneath, which gives you a backup if the optic goes down. The dovetail rail on top accepts standard Weaver and Picatinny rings, so you can pair it with the rings and bases you already trust. Installation screws and allen wrenches come in the box, and the saddle clamps onto both sides of the receiver in minutes with no gunsmithing.
Run it on a dedicated slug barrel for deer season, top it with a low-power scope for tighter groups, or mount a red dot for fast work in close quarters and turkey woods. Because nothing is permanent, you can pull it off and return the shotgun to bead-only carry whenever you want. If your shotgun isn't a Remington, we also carry the Aimtech rail mount for Mossberg 500/590 and a full range of shotgun and rifle mounts. Pair it with a compact optic and you have a clean, no-drill optics setup ready for the range or the field.
Yes. The ASM-REM1220 is designed for the Remington 870, along with the 1100 and 1187 semi-autos, in both 12 and 20 gauge. It straddles the receiver and clamps to both sides, so it works across that family of shotguns without barrel- or model-specific changes.
No. The saddle mount installs with no gunsmithing and no drilling or tapping. It clamps over the receiver using the included installation screws and allen wrenches, and most shooters have it mounted in minutes.
Yes. The inverted vee-way design centers the mount over the receiver and peaks high enough that the shotgun's original bead sight stays visible and functional underneath, giving you a backup sighting option if your optic fails.
The top of the mount uses a standard dovetail rail that accepts common Weaver- and Picatinny-style rings. That lets you run scopes or electronic sights like red dots. Choose ring height based on your optic and how high you want the sight line to sit.
It is machined from high-strength aluminum alloy with a Type II anodized finish in non-glare satin black. Per the listed specifications it weighs about 4 ounces, so it adds very little weight to the shotgun.
