The barrel is machined from T-416 modified, gun barrel quality stainless steel, stress-relieved and heat-treated before final rifling. The Commander barrel runs slightly longer than the standard length to provide the thread shoulder for the 0.578 x 28 RH muzzle threads. Each barrel ships with the link, link pin, bushing, and a thread protector, so the core fitment hardware is in the box. It's cut to drop-in tolerances, though hand fitting is typical on the 1911 platform to true the lugs, link timing, and bushing fit. The muzzle is threaded 0.578 x 28 tpi RH, the standard pitch for .45-caliber suppressors and most .45 ACP thread protectors. A thread protector is included in the box so you can run the barrel capped when no suppressor is mounted.
