The Tannerite ProPack 20 (PP20) is the original binary exploding target kit, built for shooters who want clear, instant confirmation of a hit at distance. Each package holds twenty 1/2-pound targets, premeasured catalyst packets, a mixing container, and instructions. These are shot indicators only — when a high-velocity centerfire rifle round strikes a mixed target, it produces a loud report and a visible cloud of water vapor that's easy to read from the firing line. Tannerite works as a two-component binary system: the two stable parts are stored and shipped separately and only become reactive once mixed as directed. That keeps the unmixed product non-hazardous to handle and transport. Activation requires a high-velocity centerfire rifle round traveling at least 2,000 feet per second — common loads like .223/5.56mm NATO, .243 Winchester, .270, 6mm Remington, 7.62x39mm, and 7mm Remington Magnum all clear that threshold. The targets will not detonate from rimfire, pistol rounds, or low-velocity impacts. Manufacturer guidance specifies a minimum shooting distance of 100 yards. Set up a ProPack 20 case when you're sighting in a precision rifle, running a long-range training day, or doing varmint work where instant feedback matters more than a paper score. Mix each 1/2-pound charge on site, place it down range, and back off to at least 100 yards before firing. Note that Tannerite cannot ship to California or Maryland, and some California counties require an explosive or destructive device permit.
