The Aero Precision Aero Complete Upper 5.56 20" A2 Blk is a retro-pattern complete upper built for shooters who want the classic M16A2 layout on a modern AR15 lower. It pairs a 20-inch barrel chambered in 5.56 NATO (also handling .223 Remington) with the A2 detachable carry handle and the A2 front sight block, giving you a fixed iron-sight setup straight out of the box. This is the upper for service-rifle competitors, collectors building a faithful clone, and anyone who prefers the longer sight radius and ballistic edge of a full-length barrel over a carbine setup.
The barrel is 4150 chrome moly vanadium steel finished with a salt-bath nitride treatment for corrosion and wear resistance, mated to an anodized aluminum receiver. The 1:7 twist stabilizes a wide range of bullet weights, so it runs everything from lighter 55-grain loads to heavier 77-grain match ammunition. A pinned front sight base anchors the rifle-length gas system, which delivers a softer, slower impulse than carbine- or mid-length systems and helps with reliable cycling and reduced felt recoil. Overall length runs 30 inches with the A2 handguard and A2 flash hider installed. Note that this assembly ships without a bolt carrier group or charging handle, so plan to add those before your first range trip.

No. This complete upper ships with the barrel, receiver, A2 handguard, front sight base, carry handle and flash hider, but it does not include a bolt carrier group or charging handle. You will need to add both before the rifle is functional.
