The Chevrolet Performance LSX Cast Iron Block (MPN 19417352) is a bare competition block built for engine builders chasing big displacement and big power from an LS platform. It carries a finished 4.065-inch siamese bore and a 9.240-inch production deck height, giving you a ready-to-assemble foundation for displacements from 364 to 482 cubic inches. Based on the production LS7 casting but reinforced with extra material in the decks and bores, this block is aimed at drag racers and serious street builders who need a cast-iron foundation that holds up under forced induction and nitrous. It anchors any high-output build in our engine and components lineup.
Construction is CNC-machined cast iron finished in orange powdercoat, with siamese cylinder bores and extra-thick walls for cylinder integrity at high cylinder pressures. Each cylinder uses six-bolt head clamping, and the bottom end runs six-bolt billet-steel main caps in the LS7 style, dowel-located for repeatable alignment. The deep-skirt casting extends below the crankshaft centerline, and true priority main oiling supports both wet-sump and dry-sump setups. Standard 4.400-inch bore spacing and 0.842-inch lifter bores keep it compatible with Gen III and Gen IV LS hardware. It accepts all LS-style cylinder heads, crankshafts, camshafts, oil pumps, and oil pans, and ships with a cam retainer, rear cover, and lifter retainers. Front oil feed holes can be plugged or restricted for flat tappet or roller lifter applications.
This block makes the most sense when a production casting runs out of room. It supports a maximum 4.250-inch stroke and bore, handles combinations exceeding 2,000 horsepower, and can be safely machined down to a 9.200-inch deck for tighter packaging. Naturally aspirated builders can go to a 4.200-inch bore at a 0.200-inch minimum wall thickness. Pair it with the right rotating and valvetrain hardware to finish the build, including an LS oil pan, a matched timing set, and a supporting oiling system. Allow lead time on these blocks, as they ship directly from Chevrolet Performance.
Per manufacturer specifications, the 19417352 block supports 364 to 482 cubic inches. It accepts a maximum 4.250-inch stroke and a maximum 4.250-inch bore. Naturally aspirated builders can open the bore to 4.200 inches while holding a 0.200-inch minimum cylinder wall thickness.
This is the finished deck variant with a 9.240-inch production deck height. The decks are machined thicker than a production casting and can be safely machined down to a 9.200-inch deck height for tighter packaging or custom builds.
Yes. The block uses standard 4.400-inch bore spacing and 0.842-inch lifter bores, so all Gen III and Gen IV LS-style cylinder heads, crankshafts, camshafts, oil pumps, and oil pans bolt right up. It also includes a unique cam retainer, rear cover, and lifter retainers.
It is built for it. The six-bolt-per-cylinder head clamping, six-bolt billet-steel LS7-style main caps, deep-skirt casting, and extra-thick siamese bores support forced-induction and nitrous combinations exceeding 2,000 horsepower.
The block features true priority main oiling and supports both wet-sump and dry-sump setups. Front oil feed holes can be plugged or restricted for mechanical flat tappet or roller lifter applications, depending on how you build the valvetrain.
